Selecting Unique Beach Wedding Themes
If you are considering beach wedding themes, the ideas are as endless as your imagination. One thing about selecting beach wedding themes is that lets you use the total creative freedom. Depending on the time of day the beach can set our mood. At sunrise or sunset, it is a place of romance, serenity and beauty.
Mid-day, it is the hub of fun, excitement and activity. There is no need for many decorations in beach wedding themes, because by nature, a beautiful scene has already been set for you. If you are planning an intimate wedding with just a few guests, let the beach help you set the stage for your romantic wedding ideas with a dawn or dusk seaside ceremony.
The sunrise or sunset will provide amazing background for your wedding photos. On the other hand, if you want to “tell the world” and has a large gathering people, consider the mid-summer day “beach side bash” or fantasy beach wedding that includes your guests. That is the fun part of the beach wedding, all of your guests can participate and everyone has fun.
There are some ideas to make your unique beach wedding themes. Be Cinderella with your Prince Charming; have him place the glass slipper that fits on your foot as a symbol of your perfect union. You also could hire a professional sand sculptor to build a beautiful sand castle as a background for your fairytale theme. Leave in a horse drawn carriage.
The next ideas are have a pirate wedding. You can rent costumes and decorate with treasure chest fake gold coins and jewelry. Have a real treasure hunt and when you leave, sail off into the sunset. About an “I dream of Jeannie” beach wedding theme, decorate it with pretty, colorful bottles in the sand like the one she was found in. At the end of the day, disappear in a cloud of smoke.
Have a Rainbow Wedding. Create a rainbow to wed under out of brightly colored helium filled balloons tied together. Hold them down with the “pots of gold” at each end. Have everybody bring a colored umbrella to decorate the aisle with. Great back plan up in case it rains!
Another idea is a Western beach wedding theme. This theme would be fun! A lot of beaches allow horseback riding. The reception could be a good old fashioned fireside “camp out” under the stars. Leave on horseback.
Butterfly weddings are also popular. Shades of orange and yellow with butterflies woven amongst the flowers in your tiara and bouquet would be so beautiful. Use butterflies as boutonnieres for the guys.
Do not rule out your beach wedding theme ideas because you do not live near an ocean. The definition of a “beach” is the shore of a body of water, especially if sandy or pebbly. That includes rivers and lakes. In fact, you may have a “beach” right by the swimming pool. There are no rules, so be creative and have fun!

Chicago wedding indoor photo location suggestions?
We are getting married in late October and need a few indoor locations as “backups” in case it rains or snows and we can’t take photos outdoors. Any suggestions?
I doubt it will snow in October, but yes, the weather would still be a concern….
The Cultural Center is so beautiful, what with its mosaic tiles and well-sculpted ceiling details. It has an early Chicago charm to it.
You might also want to consider some garden conservatories (the Crystal Garden at Navy Pier or the greenhouses at Lincoln Park and Garfield Park).
For places such as art museums, you might not be allowed to take photos (copyright issues and rules against photo-taking because of potential damage to work); be sure to ask permission in advance!
